Local Rides

Regularly Scheduled Rides

Road

(A ride) Saturday: 7:00 amMonterey Plaza a very fast "race pace" through Pebble beach and back. 38 miles. 10 to 20+ riders. A challenging and scenic 38 mile hilly ride through Pebble Beach and back to Monterey for coffee at East Village Coffeehouse, (498 Washington St). This is NOT a "no drop ride" If you get dropped you are on your own. 
(B ride) Saturday: 7:30 amMonterey Plaza  a more moderate pace than the 7am ride but still a brisk pace with four re-group points.  Same distance and total climbing as the 7 am ride. The group varies from 10 to 25+.  Same conclusion: East Village Coffeehouse in Monterey.
(C ride) Saturday: 8:30 am, parking lot behind movie theater in Pacific Grove (intersection of Laurel Ave and 15th St)
Essentially the same route as the 7:00am SMR. (through Pebble Beach, back for coffee at Goodie's in PG - 518 Lighthouse Ave). A more mellow ride than the 7:30 ride, but still challenging and hilly and beautifully scenic. [printable ride map]
 

Sunday: 8:00 am, Portola Plaza. [ meeting place]

Moderate pace; distance and destination determined on the spot. 

 Sunday: varied starting locations

 Tuesday: 9:00 am, near the Custom House on Old Fisherman's Wharf
No Real Job Ride. Fisherman’s Wharf. Hilly ride through Former Fort Ord and Barloy Canyon, then to East Village Coffee Lounge, Monterey. 30mi. +/- Everybody welcome. [printable map]

Track

Have you ever wanted to try track racing or just get in some time on a velodrome? The Hellyer Park Velodrome has a Saturday Morning Beginner Sessions open to everyone.

When: Every Saturday 8:30-11:30AM
Cost: $5 to ride, $5 to rent a bike, $6 for parking, or by a yearly permit for $65.


Non-Scheduled Rides

  • "The Loop" A 100 mile ride that loops through the Salinas and Carmel Valley. [map]
